Although the Check marking is NOT Rare in homing pigeons, we will mention it here for the sake of being complete in our coverage of pigeon patterns.

The 3 Check patterns = can occur with any color, producing a checkered pattern on the wing shields.

Dominance within the Check patterns is : Dark Check (most dominant), Check, and Light Check (least dominant). The Check Patterns can occur with any of the 3 main colors. With Blue (a "Blue Check"), with Ash-Red (a "Red Check"), and with Brown (a "Brown Check").
